Partial Discharge investigations can be used to accurately locate the position of potential damage within cables. This ability is not available with other diagnostic techniques.
The HVDSA Partial Discharge system for cables can be used to identify partial discharge activity within a cable. The PD detection equipment is connected via coupling capacitors which filter and amplify the PD signals and measure the excitation waveform from the VLF source. The acquisition unit is connected to a computer via USB running the powerful software needed for the detailed analysis of the PD data.
